The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees had a 2-2 week, in which they lost and regained key pitchers.
(8/16) On Sunday, the Yankees lost game three of four to the Durham Bulls by a score of 5-2. Russ Ortiz only allowed 9 hits and 3 earned in just 4 innings. After the game, Ortiz opted out of his contract, ending his Yankee career. Kevin Russo drove in RBI 23 and Chris Stewart drove in number 15.
(8/17) On Monday, the Yankees tied the series against the Bulls with a win; 9-3. Newly activated Josh Towers went 6 innings, allowing just three hits and striking out five, improving his record to 5-6. RBIs were driven in by Shelley Duncan (78), Juan Miranda 2 (74), Colin Curtis (22), Austin Jackson 2 (54), and Yurendell de Caster 2 (14).
(8/18) Tuesday, the Yankees took the series opener against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 10-5. Anthony Claggett took the win in 2.1 innings in relief, improving his record to 6-6. Jason Hirsh started, and went four innings allowing 4 hits and 2 earned. Zach Kroenke allowed 4 hits and 2 earned in just 1.2 innings in relief. RBIs were driven in by: Colin Curtis (23), Shelley Duncan 4 (82), Juan Miranda (75), Yurendell de Caster (15), Brian Peterson (3), and Reegie Corona 2 (7). The game had a 1:04 delay.
(8/19) The game was rained out against the IronPigs. No makeup has been announced.
