The Redsox made a trade today, acquiring Alex Gonzalez from the Cincinnati Reds. Gonzalez, an often injured defensive whiz at short, will get the majority of the playing time at short, with Nick Green backing him up.
To be completely honest I do not see this as an upgrade for the Redsox. Green is a great defensive player, also and he has been hitting better.
